2003 is the 21st Arcanacon, and we're throwing Syd a party. Ever since Arcanacon '83, the Arcanasaur has been a patron of the Convention. On numerous occasions, Syd has even deigned to grace us with his physical presence in the form of a huge fibreglass version of him which people can climb inside.

So come along - play or write or just vist - and join in the festivities celebrating Arcanacon's 21st birthday.

For everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven

 

In recognition of this most auspicious and special year, the theme for Arcanacon XXI is 'Anniversaries, Birthdays and Celebrations'. We are looking for games which have a connection to Time, and to the marking of its passage.

Birthdays, festivals, coronations, seasons, anniversaries, prophecies, harvests, inaugurations and celebrations are the sorts of special events which would be part of the Arcanacon theme for 2003.

While this year's theme may appear to be more ephemeral than previous years, we think that the talented pool of writers out there will be able to rise to the challenge.

Almost any genre you care to mention could complement this theme - modern horror ("The stars are right!"), fantasy ("The princess will fall into a deep sleep on her 16th birthday") or science fiction ("It has been 1000 years since the darkness was driven back by the forces of light").

So grab your best party frock and your favourite game system, prepare your stomach for fairy bread and camel rides, and come help us celebrate this milestone in the life of Arcanacon.
